Jason Paul Laxamana, born on September 21, 1987, grew up at Angeles City Pampanga. He finished BA Broadcast Communication at the University of the Philippines after 9 years of being an irregular student due to shifting courses.

        His film Astro Mayabang received a Special Mention and the Audience Choice Award at the 2010 Cinema One Originals Film Festival. He directed Kapampangan short films and music videos before his first feature in 2010 and organized workshops and film festivals in his home province of Pampanga.
